Food Review: Odwalla Strawberry Protein Shake

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.
More from Odwalla. I went ahead and wanted to try the strawberry equivalent to the chocolate protein shake. At the first sip, I tasted strawberry milk with protein additives included. Like what a protein shake should taste like. I like it, for the most part. Definitely not as good as the chocolate shake, but will definitely get this item again. The texture is definitely different from the chocolate shake, and will have to have the texture due to the protein additives (whey protein, assumed). Good for a lunch alternative, or a breakfast alternative; for if you crave sweet, yet at least half of your protein intake for the day (based off of a 2,000 calorie diet of course)

Autism is Not a Bad Word.

Hello there. As a fellow person with Autism, it's hard to talk about it without people going down to a level of a baby. I hate that baby talk sometimes. My family had a sense of something wasn't right when I was younger. My grandparents decided to have me checked out. But it wasn't until I was 16 or in the eleventh grade that I was officially diagnosed with what it's known as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Prior to 2013 it was either low functioning or mild to high functioning Autism/Aspergers Syndrome. Which they did away with that for a few years now. Since Autism is a spectrum disorder, some people can possess the ability to cook and clean, but wasn't too academically bright; so to speak. With my case I had a good knack for Math, and other academics within reason. I wasn't a genius by any means, but I was able to be in GenEd classes because of my book smarts. Now socially I was awkward as hell. Like when I started trying to date people, it came across as very weird and very negative attachment problems. (Boundary issues, which I am trying to overcome through counseling)
Also another aspect is a dual diagnosis. Whether bipolar, OCD, impulse control disorders (which combines mood and OCD together) or whatever you have. It is bound to happen with people with Autism. My OCD: I can't have my room white room clean (think Adrian Monk of Monk) or extreme hoarder mess because I will flip out. There has to be a happy medium; yet there has to be some cleaning once in a while. When I eat a three course meal (meat, veggies, carbs) depending on the meat and vegetable I eat veggies first then meat then the carbs last (always carbs last) or vice versa. When I have Captain Crunch, I eat the crunch berries first (sometimes going by color order) then the yellow crunch cereal.
Everything has to have data organization too. My step intake, tumblr posts, and to the like. I count everything up for a specific time period (week, month, et cetera) and then average it out. It's a constant need to do data organization. This would make me good in data entry for a job; but alas jobs want 2-10 years of experience and a Bachelor's in Accounting. Which I only have my Associate's. I want to have a job that I would like, I want to drive (which I am currently working on getting used to being behind the wheel before setting off for my learner's permit). But with the job aspect, it's going to be hard because the last time I applied for a few jobs, it was like no one wanted to hire me, because I mentioned I may need some support or I have special needs to a degree. Or I looked different.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Infusion Costa Rica Clementine

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

I'm determined to try all the flavors that Bai has to offer. This one is no exception to the taste of Bai brand. I enjoy this one. It does taste like a clementine for real. People might think this has a nasty aftertaste, but what do you expect (net carbs are next to none after calculating net carbs) and low calorie intake if that's the health route you're going for. Personally, it tastes sweeter than most of the Bai juices. But still has that original bai flavoring to it. So way to go Bai, I should be a spokesperson for Bai at this point.

Jessica's Bullet Journal Essentials.

I am planning on starting a bullet journal to keep track of certain tasks of my daily life, and is a good way to keep my artsy side too. Something to keep me a little busy. Maybe at the end of each entry, I'll blog the entry to show how I felt or what was going on with my life. Anything to do that is constructive.

  • A journal is a must. I prefer dotted paper.
  • Washi Tape
  • Any decent pen to do calligraphy/that won't saturate the paper too much.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Infusion Kula Watermelon

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

I am addicted to the Bai Brand. This one in particular is sweeter than the other varieties of Bai products. The Kula Watermelon excites my tastebuds; almost as if I am taking myself to Flavortown (as per Guy Fieri) of healthy beverages. You know the deal with Bai: 5 calories per serving, which would appeal to people who are trying to cut unnecessary calories from their daily diet. I for one am one of these people. The Kula Watermelon is sweet, yet not as sugar-filled like a carbonated drink (soda) I think as an alternative it's good; same with those ICE brand flavored water or La Croix waters.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Infusion Brasilia Blueberry

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

When I discovered Bai, this one was one of the first varieties that I have tried from this brand. I enjoy this flavor; because it's not too sweet, and the aftertaste isn't too weird that it would put me off. There is definitely an aftertaste in my opinion. But the blueberry flavor is strong. And again the sweetness you are tasting is the blueberry; and not additional sweeteners. What I like about Bai brand it's low calorie, which is fine by me, because I monitor calories (1,500-1,600 calories tops in a day; non-cheat day). And it's perfect mid afternoon beverage for when I am thirsty.

Food Review: Hostess Twinkies Ice Cream

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.
It's delicious for some odd reason. I enjoy the fact that there's little Twinkies pieces in them to give the ice cream a distinct taste. It's pretty sweet though so you may not want to eat the whole container at once (if it's the little pint size containers). It's not the healthiest whatsoever. But definitely great comfort food. Plus it was semi-cheap at the Dollar General I go to, so why not try something different? With ice cream it's difficult for me to process the taste sometimes because it does get too cold for my teeth (sensory issues, due to ASD) but it's something I personally will get again if it's on sale or cheap.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Cocofusion Molokai Coconut

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

This one is a strong coconut flavoring. At first when I tried coconut flavored Bai, I felt that I wasn't going to like it. If it was going to taste anything like coconut milk or coconut water; then count me out. But this is definitely sweeter than coconut water. I have a disdain for coconut water because it is gross, and I do not understand why people drink it as a standalone beverage. I think this is a really good variation of the cocofusions Bai has to offer. Will definitely get this variation again in the near future. Well Done, Bai.

New Discovered Albums (Months of August and September)

Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa - Domingo (1967) 8.5/10
Peter Buck of R.E.M recommended this album. It's Brazilian but it's an amazing album. Probably only accessible on Spotify and vinyl (as I couldn't find a CD of this album) But has this easy-listening and folk infusion. The vocals are clean. The instrumentals are also pretty clean and easy to listen to. I think this could be an essential record for people into world music. And what I consider world music as an American is foreign for starters, and has an ethnic vibe to whatever region the artists belong to. On a personal base, I wanted to give this album at least two listen throughs before making a rating. This is the first Folk and World infused album I've given a chance to, and will listen to it again.

Esprit 空想 - 200% Electronica (2017) 7/10
A chillwave/vaporwave type of album. Definitely a must for avid vaporwave fans. People think of Vaporwave and only think of Macintosh Plus/Vektroid. Esprit 空想 has this chillwave vibe to their work; well with this album anyways. Generally I can't give vaporwave more than an 8 out of 10, because of how it does sometimes blend into each song, and that can be overwhelming for my sensory issues sometimes; and could make me very tired easily. Not to say that this album is bad by any means, personally I have to be in the mood for this type of music anyways. It's definitely not something I'd play on repeat every day.

Florence + The Machine - High As Hope (2018) 8.5/10
I've heard mixed reviews about this album. From the first lesson, it definitely is a hit with me. I think people didn't like the polarizing of the tracks. Honestly, this is Florence at her finest, with her vocal range. Yes, this album might not appeal to the mainstream media (people who are fanatics of mumble rap or trending music) Objectively my favorite tracks are: Sky Full of Song, Hunger, and Grace. Indie for sure, through and through. I wanted to give this somewhere between an eight and nine for ratings, so I decided 8.5 would be appropriate (just from my personal tastes).

Florence and the Machine_ High as Hope.jpg

Earth - The Bees Made Honey in The Lion's Skull (2009) 7.5/10
Introductory to Drone Metal/Rock. If you want to get into that genre, I suggest you all listen to anything by Earth really. This album in particular, I found via podcasts on iTunes circa 2009ish when I was a 10th grader in high school. For me personally, it does get to be a little boring after the first 2 tracks, because of how lengthy these tracks are (one being nearly 10 minutes long) with droning instrumentals, and no vocals; which is essentially the point of drone metal anyways. The album cover is interesting, I actually like it. There's like 9 or 10 tracks on this album averaging around 6 to 8 minutes of a track. So around a 45 minute album.

61D680QlvQL.jpg

Evanescence - Synthesis (2017) 4/10
Objectively, this has to be Evanescence's worst album. The concept was okay. But the execution was highly poor. There were two newish songs on there Hi-Lo which was a demo from the previous albums, and Imperfection which was the lone new single that has been written for this album. Other than that, Amy was trying to copy what Epica, Within Temptation, and all the other symphonic metal bands have done in the past. And it was poorly executed in my opinion. There was 12 tracks on this album 2 newish songs, and at least 1 instrumental. Then the remaining tracks were rehashes of older songs/hits. The only good songs that I care for My Heart is Broken, Lacrymosa, Lithium and Hi-Lo. They butchered Bring Me to Life and Imaginary for sure. I try to dodge this album if I can when on Spotify unless it's the remakes of songs I enjoy.

Food Review: Nature's Bakery Pomegranate Fig Bar

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

You know those Fig Newton bars? Yeah, this is a drier, thicker version of those cookies. The thickness takes away from the actual taste of the pomegranate flavoring. The thickness of the bar took away my ability to know what's going on in terms of how things should taste. Personally I wouldn't get this variety again unless it was 89 cents like the time I bought this bar. The brownie bars were much better than the fig bars; and less thick in consistency than the pomegranate fig bars. Health wise this isn't the best option. You might as well eat a fruity yogurt which will have more protein anyways.

Food Review: Bai Rio Raspberry Supertea

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

I'm back at it again with Bai juices/teas. This time it's the Rio Raspberry super tea. From the first taste I could tell there's going to be an aftertaste with this one. Though at first taste, I tasted the raspberry right away; which is a good sign. This one I will probably buy again despite the aftertaste. Like I've said before health-conscious beverages tend to have an aftertaste to a degree. I've tried so many varieties of Bai juices and teas it's starting to blend with each other; if I'm to be honest. Not saying they're terrible, it just has that impression on me.

Food Review: Fanta Pinapple

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.
This is definitely once in a blue moon item for dieters who want to reduce their sugar intake. For me I cannot consume the whole bottle at a time for a very good reason: the carb and sugar count is too high for people who want to lose weight. Despite this being caffeine free, this is flat out soda. The flavor is great though I must admit. A treat I must say, for people trying to reduce their intake either rarely or skip it completely.  Personally I wouldn't drink the whole bottle in one sitting, because of the carbs/sugar count. Plus it may be a little strong on the sweetness for some.

Food Review: Odwalla Chocolate Protein Shake

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

This is supposedly a healthier alternative to soda. Which it is, with a significant amount of protein (64 percent of your daily value/per 2,000 calories) Though the carbs could have been a little lower, and the sugar is as much as soda; for people who want more protein in their diet this is an okay kind of thing. It smells like chocolate. It tastes like chocolate. Though I was expecting a funny aftertaste. The aftertaste isn't significant in the first sip. Though it may occur the more I drink the bottle. Overall for 3 dollars a pop (unfortunately) it's not too bad. and could get a couple every month when I food shop. Perfect alternative for a heavy lunch or breakfast. You still get the calories, and voila: protein.

Hello All, brief commentary. If you haven't done so, please check out this site. It's relatively new for me, and I know people love to buy candles for the scent and aesthetics. The Candles and melts are 100 percent soy, and no chemical additive dyes.

Trust me it's worth it! I sell candles, melts and wax warmers on this page. Every purchase counts! Since I want to get my feet wet with business marketing experience, this would be a good opportunity to help me with trying to get another marketing job, where they require at least 5 years of sales rep experience. Also work from home for me, so win win.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Socarro Sweet Super Tea

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

Another Product from Bai. It has occurred to me that I am addicted to this brand. So far I haven't found a product that they have made that I didn't like. My thoughts are from meh to excellent for what they offer. Meh being not bad but probably be a rare occurrence that I'd buy that item. I have maybe 2 products Bai offers that belong in the "meh" category. That being said: the Socarro Sweet tea product is definitely sweeter than the Tanzania Lemon tea. With most healthy based drinks with low calories/carbs/sugar, it's going to have an aftertaste to a certain degree. I tasted sweetness; then immediately the aftertaste followed. Not saying it's a bad aftertaste; but just an aftertaste in general. This product will definitely be bought again.

Food Review: Takis Fuego

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.
I wanted to see what the buzz was all about with this varied snack. I've heard some pretty good things about these chip like snacks. They tend to be spicy, so for the people who have digestive issues, then this isn't for you (or a rare occasion with TUMS). At first when I opened the bag, it didn't smell too hot. But here's the kicker: as an occasional spice enthusiast, I ate 3-4 of them and felt the heat. Personally I probably would only eat half a serving at a time. It's for sure, that it isn't for people with digestive issues such as acid reflux or heartburn. It does leave a little bit of heat after you consume a few though.

New Discovered Albums (Months of June and July)

Arthur Buck - Arthur Buck (2018) 8.5 /10

A genuinely feel good indie album. By Joseph Arthur and Peter Buck (Of R.E.M) this album has this unique aesthetic to it. I think that as a debut album it's a solid album. At first the vocals had to grow on me. But I adore the vocals now.  I Am The Moment, Forever Waiting, Summertime, and American Century are indeed bangers in my honest opinion.  It's not the best album out there; but it's up there in my collection. I will definitely pick up copies (CD and vinyl) for sure. I am indeed electrified. Thank you for the new tunes Peter and Joseph.

Arthur+Buck+Album+Cover

Gorillaz - The Now Now (2018)  8/10

Definitely some chill out music. It's ok for chill out music. Far from being perfect. This is the first full album I've checked out of Gorillaz. To be honest, I've heard some mixed reviews about Humanz as well. Will be checking that album out. The Now Now is definitely not gold compared to Demon Dayz but a solid album nonetheless. My favorite tunes off of The Now Now has to be: Idaho, Hollywood, and Souk Eye. Personally this would be my go-to chill out music, if I wanted something in the background while blogging or cleaning my space out (bedroom).

Death Grips - Year of the Snitch (2018) 8/10
Death Grips usually never disappoints me. When I first heard about Death Grips, it was through some videos on Youtube and memes of course. So this is the first album I gave undivided attention to, and I like it. Definitely out of my usual rock and metal genres that I listen to on a daily basis; sometimes 4-5 times a day per song. Death Grips has this unique sound to hip-hop that I personally enjoy.  Favorite songs from this particular album Death Grips is Online, Dilemma, and The Fear. I hate how much Death Grips get bad reputation for being shit. But I guess it's part of the meme they are.

220px-Year_of_the_Snitch_album_cover

R.E.M - Out of Time (1991) 10/10
Ok I know this is old news, but hear me out. I haven't heard the full album. I was an idiot music fan; that was limited back in the day. Now that I have Spotify, I have full access to this album. I know for most the picks on this album is going to be Losing My Religion and Shiny Happy People. My picks for the best songs, would be Texarkana, Near Wild Heaven, and Endgame. I really adore this album, because Mike Mills vocals really shine here. Especially in Texarkana, and Near Wild Heaven. I give this a perfect rating, and that's rare for me.

220px-R.E.M._-_Out_of_Time

Alison Wonderland - Awake (2018) 7.5/10
First discovered today. This may have to take a few listens to bump it from a 7.5. To be honest, there's good tracks and bad tracks on this album. I shouldn't say bad, it's more like I probably would skip if I had to. Or I'd listen to this once in a blue moon type of song. It's all that electro-chill out music people are raving about these days. This artist so happened to be on one of Spotify's automated playlists for the summer. The more I listen to it, the more I may like it. It's not perfect. But it is indeed aesthetic for the Tumblrites.

Food Review: Bai Antioxidant Super Tea Tanzania Lemon

*DISCLAIMER: this is just my opinion. no paid writing here.

For 5 calories per serving, this flavor isn't too bad. Typically with a low calorie beverage it tends to have a weird/nasty aftertaste which you would be accustomed to after a while; or after drinking it multiple times. This isn't much different; it does have the aftertaste, but not as bad as a diet Coke or diet Pepsi would have. I was expecting more of a zesty lemon flavor, but it's subtle in my opinion. Definitely a good alternative to sugary tea, juices high in carbs and sugar, and soda (even diet/zero calorie sodas) Will definitely buy again when it's on sale; which Bai usually is to begin with.
